Today you’re being reminded to pause and do nothing.
Take time to pause and allow yourself to dream.
Take time to nourish yourself deeply.
How often do you prioritise the stillness, the nourishing and the dreaming?
Do you schedule time just to dream, or is your to-do list full of action and activity?
Review your relationship with stopping and pausing. This is after all part of the natural rhythm of life.
Yet, we can often judge stopping, pausing and resting, as lazy, unproductive or a waste of time, as there’s nothing tangible, or what society teaches us as valuable and worthwhile at the end of it.
Feeling refreshed, nourished and restored, doesn’t receive the same accolades as being busy, achieving and exhausted.
But when you allow yourself to stop, to pause, to dream and restore, those tasks on your to-do lists get done better, more efficiently and to a higher standard.
There’s less resentment of things or people taking your time, as you have more energy, so the time you have left creates better connections with family and friends.
In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you let yourself pause.
Today’s SHEro action is to pause and do nothing.
Can you give yourself 5 minutes of daydreaming, or maybe even an hour?
Notice how you feel about stopping and doing ‘nothing’.
Does it feel joyful, or does guilt and the dreaded ‘should’s’ creep in.
Give yourself permission to take some time to stop – no guilt, no judgement and no expectations.
Pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to do absolutely nothing.
“It’s okay for me to stop”
